Richmond Data Center

Richmond Skyline

The Richmond Data center was designed as to be a secure and compliant facility catering to the Federal market, enterprise Custom Data Center clients, and commercial Colocation, Cloud (connected to seven cloud providers) and Managed Services requirements.

The Data Center is the termination point for the new MAREA and BRUSA subsea cables. This transformative event has opened the European, Latin and South America markets to the region via the lowest latency and highest capacity ever deployed between the continents.

Richmond’s rich connectivity means, every fiber path on the region is reachable from this data center which is located five miles from Richmond Airport, 98 miles from Washington DC, with direct access to I-295, I-64 and I-95.

Richmond Data Center exterior

The Richmond Data center has 1,300,000 sq. ft. of total current space with an additional 1,400,000 sq. ft. of raised floor available for expansion.  The Center also has 100,000 sq. ft. of leasable office space and 200+ acres of adjacent, owned, land.

The Richmond Data Center is LEED Gold Certified (Phase DC1)

In terms of power, the Richmond Data Center has 110 MW of Critical Power Capacity provided by 2 on-site substations.   The site also is supplied by an on-site solar panel system.  Power configurations are N + 1 and 2N.

The Richmond Data Center is the closest mega data center on-ramp to MAREA and BRUSA subsea cable landing in VA beach.  The enables the lowest latency access to Europe and LATM in Virginia market –with diverse connectivity to the Ashburn D.C. , the  Ashburn Carrier Hotel and major SDN providers.

Additionally, the Richmond Data center is served by 16 On-Net Carrier Partners and by the both SDN Providers Megaport and PacketFabric.  Also, there is connectivity to various clouds and providers via the proprietary Switchboard, internetConnect and  crossConnect services.

Lastly, the Richmond Data center has both space and capacity available for Build-to-Suit facilities and it offers managed services that can augment your current and future operations.
